Erinn Martin

Erinn D. Martin, Vice President. Expertise in civil rights, judicial nominations, privacy, tech, and education policy. A lawyer by training, Erinn is a passionate policy strategist, and coalition builder with over a decade of experience. She has broad experience at advocacy organizations and in the government, previously serving at the Department of Justice, National Women’s Law Center, and Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

Eli Bach

Eli supports the NVG team by keeping clients informed of the latest legislative developments, agency actions, and media coverage within the health policy space. As an associate, he works with our clients on a wide range of health care and global health policy issues. Eli is deeply interested in health equity and the care economy.

Amy Rutkin

Amy Rutkin is a veteran government/political leader with 25+ years of Capitol Hill experience as Chief of Staff to Rep. Jerrold Nadler and Staff Director of the House Judiciary Committee. Led the Committee through both impeachments of President Trump and highly-charged debates across the complex jurisdictions of criminal, immigration, IP, antitrust, and constitutional law. Steady in a crisis and thrives at developing and executing long-term campaigns.

Alice Alexeeva

Alice Alexeeva, an avid researcher, specializes in keeping clients informed of current legislative developments and industry trends in the AI, technology, IP, and media spaces. As a DC-area native, Alice has spent her life forging strong connections with passionate advocates and organizers that drive positive change to address equity and justice.

Angela Kelley

Angela “Angie” Kelley, Senior Advisor. Life-long immigration advocate who brings a wealth of expertise and experience from her time in the Biden administration and at think tanks in Washington. Before joining NVG, she served as Senior Counselor to the Secretary of Homeland Security and Chief Advisor on Policy and Partnerships for the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She has also held leadership positions at the Center for American Progress, the Open Society Foundation, and the Center for American Progress Action Fund.

Amber Singh

Amber Singh, Government Relations Manager. With a background in issue campaigns, Amber is a passionate organizer and strategist with experience in coalition building and partnerships. With over 5 years of experience in building relationships with organizations across the political landscape, Amber holds a strong network of advocates and activists. Amber has worked for a variety of political advocacy organizations, including The Hub Project and the Congressional Progressive Caucus Center. Amber’s work includes agriculture, nutrition, and housing policy.

Kate Schumacher

Kate assists the NVG team by connecting clients with key decision-makers in Washington. She helps keep clients up-to-date on the Washington conversation by attending Congressional hearings, media monitoring, and assisting with our weekly report. Kate is deeply passionate about women’s issues as well as social policy and equity work.

Kasayah Alexis

Serves as a liaison between Congress and clients. Kasayah keeps clients in the know about the latest Hill actions as well as connecting clients to the Hill, strategically making the Hill more accessible to clients. Kasayah is particularly interested in antitrust and competition policy, and labor laws.

Katie Pischke

Katie Pischke, Health Care Coalitions Manager. Works with our health care clients to strategize and implement solutions between a variety of organizations and Congress. Katie keeps clients in the loop on Hill actions, agency news, and movements in the health policy world. A great connector, Katie takes pride in building bridges between policymakers and clients to achieve our goals. Formerly an employee of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Katie is passionate about the intersection of health policy and civil rights in the United States and around the world.

Julio Lainez

Julio Lainez, Vice President. Experienced bridge builder and policy wonk with deep understanding of technology, appropriations, foreign, and labor policy. Julio is at ease negotiating bill revisions and devising legislative strategy and development. He also has strong relationships within the Congressional Tri-Caucus.

He has cultivated great relationships within the House & Senate, and committees like Armed Services; Foreign Affairs; Judiciary; Transportation & Infrastructure; Ways & Means; Energy & Commerce; Senate Appropriations; Finance; Budget; Foreign Relations; and Banking.

Julio has a nearly ten-year career on Capitol Hill in both the House and the Senate as legislative director for Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA-06), and as aide for former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). 

He loves reading about President Lincoln and his favorite quote is, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax.”
